Spicy Chicken Burger

Who doesn’t like burgers? I usually use beef to make them but today I am trying this spicy chicken burger. It is definitely different to the classic one with sriracha mayo giving extra kick to it. You can make it with whatever you like but I paired it with sun dried tomatoes and some Italian mozarella, which worked really well.  Sweet potato chips are great side to it!

Spicy chicken burger

Servings 4 people

Ingredients

For the burger

  • 400 g minced chicken
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • chilli flakes
  • paprika powder
  • chopped chilli optional

For the fillings:

  • 4 buns
  • 4 slices of mozarella
  • 4 sun dried tomatoes
  • 4 slices shallots
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tbsp sriracha mayo

Instructions

  1. Mix the chicken with egg, breadcrumbs and all the spices. If it is too dry, add some water (little at a time). Form 4 burgers.

  2. Heat some oil on the frying pan and fry the burgers for about 5 min on each side (depending how thick they are). Check that they are cooked throughly. When ready, cover with a slice of cheese and put under the grill until cheese is melted.

  3. Heat the halved buns under the grill until they start becoming golden. 

  4. When the burgers and buns are ready, stack them up with all other ingredients and enjoy:)
