Believe it or not, I only started to eat hummus few years ago. But only when I tried the home made version I truly fell for it! This classic recipe is so addictive that I need to stop myself from eating it straight from the mixing bowl.
Serves 2:
1 can of chickpeas plus 3-4 tbs of water reserved from the can
2 tbs tahini
2-3 tbs of fresh lemon juice
1 clove of garlic, crushed
3 tbs olive oil
Big pinch of salt
0.5 tsp ground cumin
0.5 tsb chilli or paprika
Method:
Rinse chickpeas in cold water and place in food processor. Add all of the ingredients except olive oil. Blitz it all and pour the oil at the same time. Adjust with salt, chilli or lemon to your liking.
I like to eat it scooped up with fresh carrots or cucumbers but it is great with crackers too.
Let me know how you like it!
Enjoy!
Lovely 😀
