I have recently been fascinated by Timothy from Mississippi Vegan. He has just published his first book which is full of beautiful photographs and really amazing recipes. I am not vegan but I appreciate and love veggies. When I was making dinner today I was looking for some nice twist to a salad and I found this super easy but extremely delicious gomashio – Japanese sesame salt idea. Traditionally it is sprinkled on salads or rice but I think it will work great on sushi and soups! It tastes so good that I will be sprinkling it on everything.

Gomashio - sesame salt
Ingredients
- 0.25 cup sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 0.25 tsp sea salt
Instructions
-
Mix all ingredients together on the dry frying pan
-
Gently heat the pan and toast the sesame seeds until golden. You need to stir all the time to prevent burning.
-
Once ready place seeds in the bowl and bash with a back of the knife handle so the seeds are cracked.
-
You can use straight away or keep in the airtight container for a few days.
Enjoy the sprinkling!
